Plight of the State Worker & The Quest for the 2% Raise
MissionCharactersRulesAssessment
Elements of the Quest

Instructions

History:

State workers are paid significantly less than other municipal employees, including those who work for city and county governments. As the state continues to fall deeper into economic crisis, the evil Legislature has blocked raises for state workers for the last several years.

With the cost of living on the rise, state workers must make do with even less.

Objective:

Prove to the evil Legislature that state workers deserve a 2% pay raise.

Tasks

1.) Score at least a 4 out of 5 on your Employee Performance Evaluation (EPE)

Based on whichever character you choose to be, your EPE will identify specific job-related performance expectations that the employee is responsible for achieving. Failure to score high will result in low confidence from the evil Legislature.

Potential Obstacle: A supervisor who doesn't want you to succeed

2.) Win over public opinion

It's a commonly held belief that state workers are lazy. By increasing the level of your customer service and public outreach effort, you can win over the public... which means winning over the evil Legislature... which means $$$! Depending on the character you choose, you'll be forced to complete a different customer service related task.

Potential Obstacle: An irate constituent

3.) Petition the Evil Legislature

You're a state worker, but you're also a citizen and an evil Legislator's constituent. As such, depending on the character you choose, persuade your local senator or representative that you deserve a 2% raise by using your individual skills and talents.

Potential Obstacle: State workers serve at the pleasure of the Governor. Proceed respectfully or you'll be packing up your cubicle!
